Tar and tar oils TM Eskaro - natural power for your wood
Wood is alive. Your task is to protect it
Wood is a material that breathes, retains heat and fills the space with a living natural aroma. It is light, strong, unique. But even the best wood needs reliable protection from moisture, rotting and cracking. And here is the great news: nature has long come up with the perfect remedy.
What is natural tar
Wood tar is a dark, thick, resinous liquid obtained by dry distillation (heating without air access) of stumps and lower parts of coniferous trunks with a high resin content. It has a characteristic pleasant smell.
The principle of action is ingeniously simple: tar does not form a film on the surface - it penetrates deep into the wood, forming a resinous waterproof layer there. The wood remains dry from the inside, and therefore does not rot, does not crack and serves for decades.
*According to the European Union directive, pine tar is officially permitted as a bioprotection agent for wood.
This is not marketing - it is a fact. Natural pine tar has been protecting boats, ships, ropes and wooden buildings in the Nordic countries since the 14th century. The Swedish Cultural Authority still recommends pine tar-based products for treating wooden roofs of churches and architectural monuments. There are churches that have stood for almost a thousand years - and tar played a key role in this.
Pine tar TM Eskaro - traditions + quality
Eskaro pine tar is a 100% natural product with a minimum content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) - only 300 g/l, which is significantly less than the permissible norm of category A/f (700 l/h). Environmentally friendly. Safe. Effective.
What does it protect? Log houses, facade boards, fences, poles, roofing structures, bridges, boats, longboats, spun ropes - everything that comes into contact with atmospheric influences.
How to apply? Stir the product before use. For better penetration into hardwood, dilute the tar with resin turpentine up to 20%. Apply with a stiff brush, rubbing well along the fibers. Pay special attention to the ends. After a day, wipe off the excess with a rag. For surfaces under the open sky - treat once a year, and your wood is safe.
Tar oils TM Eskaro - beauty and protection in one
Do you want your wood to not only serve, but also look luxurious? Then Eskaro tar oils are your choice!
Made on the basis of linseed oil and pine tar, they combine deep protection with a decorative effect. The wood acquires a noble transparent coating with warm natural shades - from golden brown to rich dark brown.
Why are they so effective? Like tar, oil does not form a film on the outside, but penetrates deeply into the structure of the wood, forming a water-repellent resinous layer. The surface remains dry, resistant to rotting and cracking, protected from all weather conditions. The VOC content is less than 400 g/l (subgroup A/e norm), which confirms the environmental friendliness of the product.
Where to use? Log houses and facade boards, garden furniture, terraces and verandas, greenhouses, fences, wooden barrels and pools, playgrounds, roof structures - wherever both protection and appearance are important.
A little tip: to get lighter shades, dilute the oil with natural linseed oil (Linaõlivärnits from TM Eskaro). For better penetration into dense wood, dilute with up to 10% turpentine.
Apply 1–4 layers depending on the density of the wood, sanding the surface between layers. The result is a durable, natural, beautiful coating.
