Properties

Acrylic water-base protective and decorative facade varnish for stone.
  • Reliably protects the surface from weathering, pollution and moisture.
  • Prevents the destruction of surface, formation of efflorescence, appearance and growth of fungus (mold, moss).
  • Extends the lifetime of facades.
  • Over 5 years remains protective and decorative properties.
  • Contains wax, which increases the hydrophobic (water repellent) properties of coating and provides ease of cleaning with wet cleaning.
  • Forms a glossy, transparent, elastic, strong, weatherproof, vapor permeable membrane.
  • Withstands repeated wet cleaning using neutral household detergents.
  • Operating temperature: from -30 ° С to + 80 ° С.
  • Does not crack, does not turn yellow with time.
  • Has good adhesion to various types of mineral surfaces.
  • Allows to get effect of "wet stone" on the surface.
  • It can enhance the natural color of the surface, make its texture more expressive (for verification, it is necessary to make a trial coloring on the object).
  • Suitable for protecting interior surfaces painted with water-base paints.
  • Does not contain volatile organic compounds. It does not have an unpleasant odor.
  • For exterior and interior use.
Do not use abrasive detergents or hard brushes and sponges for cleaning.
Attention! The coating gains its final strength 4 weeks after applying the varnish.

Use

The varnish is intended for protection and decoration of mineral surfaces: natural and artificial stone, brick, clinker, concrete, plaster, etc. Suitable for protecting interior surfaces painted with water-base paints. The varnish is designed to give surfaces moisture, wear and dirt resistance. It is especially recommended for processing a socle. For exterior and interior use. Objects for use: Elements of facades and fences (plinths, pillars), stone terraces, cladding with natural and artificial stone, exterior and landscape elements made of stone, monuments, facade and interior wall tiles, claddings of fireplaces, stone and painted interior decoration elements. The varnish is not intended for floors, for horizontal surfaces during outdoor works (including paving slabs, stone for paving paths), as well as for polished and glazed materials. It is not recommended to use for facing bricks with efflorescence problems, as well as on facades in case of violation of the cut-off waterproofing between the foundation and walls.

Types of surfaces for application

Natural and artificial stones, bricks, clinker, concrete, plasters and other mineral surfaces. Surfaces in the interior painted with water-base paints.

Quality standards

  • 1 class of wear resistance according to DIN EN 13300.
  • VOC content (volatile organic compounds) complies with the European Union Directive 2004/42 / EC.

Surface preparation

The surface must be dry, durable, free of sand, dust, dirt, oil (grease), fungus (mold). Previously painted surfaces must be cleaned of old peeling material, treated with sandpaper and rinsed with water. Surfaces that have been cleaned of mold (mildew) and also subject to constant exposure to moisture should be treated with an anti-mold agent, such as Biotol or Biotol Spray, according to the instructions. To reduce the consumption of varnish and increase the protective effect, the highly absorbent porous mineral surfaces must first be primed with a penetrating finely divided primer, for example, Aquastop Expert, Aquastop Strong.

Application

Mix the varnish. If necessary (to obtain a convenient consistency), dilute with water to 3%.
Apply with a brush, roller, swab, spray at an air temperature of varnish and surface from + 5 ° C to + 30 ° C and relative humidity not higher than 80%. When applying varnish, it is good to grind it on the surface, avoid puddles. Apply 1-3 coat of varnish, depending on the density and absorbency of the surface, as well as the desired visual effect. To achieve a protective effect, it is enough to apply 1 coat of varnish to the surface (highly absorbent porous surfaces must first be primed with a finely dispersed penetrating primer). To obtain the “wet stone” effect on the surface, it is necessary to apply 2-3 layers of varnish. Apply the second and subsequent layers 2 hours after applying the previous layer. It is not recommended to apply varnish in the wind, in direct sunlight, as well as during the rain and fog without the use of special membrane fences that limit the influence of atmospheric influences, as this can lead to coating defects. The coating is ready for use 24 hours after applying the varnish. Final coating strength: after 4 weeks. It is recommended to re-treat the surface with varnish after 5-6 years, depending on the influence of atmospheric factors. Surfaces subject to intense mechanical stress and strong weathering are recommended to be treated annually. The color of the surface coated with tinted varnish depends on the amount and thickness of the applied varnish layers, as well as on the color of the substrate and its absorbency. The last coat should be applied with a non-tinted varnish.

Tools

Brush, roller, swab, spray.

Tool cleaning

Rinse immediately with water. Dry varnish is mechanically cleaned.

Composition

Copolymer acrylic dispersion, wax, water, additives.

Colour

White. After drying it is colorless.

Tinting

Manual tinting with TM Aura pigment pastes (no more than 2% of the varnish volume). Tinted varnish is recommended for interior use only. By using tinted varnish, the total number of varnish layers should be 2–3 layers, while the finish (protective) coating layer should be applied with not tinted varnish.

Consumption

8-12 m²/l per layer. The consumption of varnish depends on the type and preparation of the surface.

Drying time

At a temperature of + 20 ° C and relative humidity of 65%: 30 minutes from dust. The next coat can be applied after 2 hours. The surface is ready for use 24 hours after applying the last coat.
At lower temperatures and higher humidity, the drying time increases.

Precautionary measures

By working, follow the general rules of occupational health. Work in a well-ventilated area, in work clothes, gloves. Keep out of the reach of children. In case of contact with eyes and skin, rinse with water. Varnish is fire and explosion proof.

Disposal

Residues of dried varnish and plastic containers must be disposed of as household waste.
