Properties

Water-borne acrylic paint for furniture and other indoor wooden surfaces.

Easy to use, no spatter in application.
Spreads over the surface evenly.
No strong odour.
Quick-drying.
Provides a hard durable coating with high decorative properties.
The painted surface can withstand frequent wet cleaning with detergents.
Wear resistant: highly resistant to mechanical load and extensive use (scratching, dirt or rubbing).
Resistant to UV light (does not discolour to yellow) and exposure to numerous household chemicals.

Maximum permissible EU VOC content for this product (subcat. d): 130g/L; maximum VOC content in the product <130g/L.
Gloss:

Semi-gloss in accordance with EN 13300.

Wash resistance:

class 1 in accordance with EN 13300.

Purpose

For painting new or previously painted wooden furniture (cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, etc.), other wooden surfaces (hand rails, baseboards, etc.), and items made of wood chipboard or wood-fiber board. Can be used on surfaces previously painted with alkyd or catalyst paint. Not suitable for surfaces previously coated with nitrate cellulose paint or varnish. Do not use for painting floors, stairs or items used in outdoor conditions.

Types of surfaces for painting

Wooden furniture and other wooden surfaces as well as items made of plywood, wood chipboard or wood-fiber board.

Quality standards

EN 13300 [Paints and varnishes. Water-borne coating materials and coating systems for interior walls and ceilings. Classification] – classification standards of coverage, gloss level and wet abrasion resistance parameters for water-borne coating materials for interior walls and ceilings.
VOC (volatile organic compounds) – content in accordance with the European Union directive 2004/42/CE.

Surface preparation before painting

The surface to be painted must be degreased and cleaned from peeling paint, dirt and dust; it must also be dry. New surfaces: Clean the surface from dirt, dust or grease. If there are any knots on the surface, remove resin and treat the knots with isolating varnish. Before painting, spray wooden surfaces with water, let them dry and sand the wood fibers which have risen. Prime the surface with the paint diluted with water in the amount of 5–10% of its volume. Previously painted surfaces: Remove peeling paint and rust stains (for example, those left by screw heads). Wash dirty surfaces with a detergent solution, rinse with water and let dry. Hard glossy surfaces should be sanded until they are matt. Use the OPS PRO product for the removal of old varnish coatings if necessary. Then prepare he surface in the same way as untreated surfaces.

Application

Stir the paint thoroughly before application. If necessary, dilute with water in the amount of 5% of its volume. Mixing a sufficient quantity of the tinted paint from several cans in one container is recommended for ensuring that the colour of large surfaces is even. Apply 1-2 coats with a brush, roller or spray gun at the temperature between +10 °C and +28 °C and relative humidity not exceeding 80%. Application in the conditions of exposure to direct sunlight, draughts and high temperature can cause surface defects

Care for the painted surface

The coating reaches its peak wash resistance in about 4 weeks; in the meantime, treat the surface with care until its hardness and wash resistance have reached their peak levels.
If necessary, the surface can be lightly wiped with a soft sponge or cloth approximately 48 hours after paint application.
We recommend using water and neutral or medium alkaline detergents (pH below 9) for cleaning.
Do not use organic solvents, abrasive cleansers and hard scrubbing brushes or sponges. Hard rubbing can make the surface glossy.
The coating is resistant to solutions of detergents in water, to oils and greases, and short-term exposure to weak solvents (gasoline, white spirit).

Tools

Brush, velour roller, airless spray gun. If an airless spray gun is used, the 0,013–0,017" nozzle size is recommended.

Tool cleaning

Clean the tools with water after completing work.

Colour	White.
Tinting	Machine tinting according to the Eskarocolor system (bases А and TR).
Consumption	8–10 m²/lL- smooth surfaces, 5–8 m²/L- rough surfaces
Drying time	At the temperature of +20 °C and the relative humidity of 60%, the surface is dust-dry in 1 hour. The surface is ready for normal use in 48 hours after painting. If the temperature is lower and the humidity is higher, the drying takes longer accordingly. The paint coating reaches its peak hardness and wash resistance in about four weeks. In the meantime, avoid loading the surface, vigorous cleaning or contact of the surface with hot or sticky objects.

Safety precautions

The product is not classified as hazardous according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one, mixture of: 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-2H -isothiazol-3-one. May produce an allergic reaction. Keep out of reach of children. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. When operating, follow working safety standards and requirements. As a preventative measure it is recommended to use basic Personal Protection Equipment.

Waste treatment

Avoid release to the environment. Dispose of the contents/containers in accordance with the current legislation on waste treatment.
Waste treatment methods: code 08 01 12- Waste paint and varnish other than those mentioned in 08 01 11, waste class (Regulation (EU) No 1357/2014): non-dangerous.
